HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!
Photography, Ryder Gledhill
with Model, Christina Simmons
Obsessed! Obsessed with Marie Antoinette. I have been painting Marie Antoinette for a little over one year now in fine art, and body painting. I was going to use this model for a completely different shoot, and then last minute, I decided, "CAKE FIGHT!" Two models, painted as Marie Antoinette and Courtesan, throwing cake at each other. Great idea, right??? One model canceled the morning of... and too much partying the night before proved hellacious morning...and the wig was tragic... Photographer Ryder Gledhill and I proceeded on towards making this the BEST EVER bombshell, JUST BECAUSE nothing was working out! As we say in France... VOILLA!
I continue to be inspired by by Sophia Coppola's punk flavoured film, Marie Antoinette. One last time, here's a fabulous encore to my obsession.

Here is a painting that I did last year, inspired by Marie Antoinette. 2011, mixed media with candy, 24"x60"
That painting inspired my first six hour body painting, last year at FABAIC.
In just two days, I am traveling to the Face and Body Art International Convention again, this year in Fort Lauderdale. (fabaic.com)
I will be competing again, and will give it my best shot again to go for the prize! Last year's piece, pictured below, was Marie Antoinette themed. Wearing a three foot high head dress, my model, Cassandra Barrett, spun skillful pirouettes on her roller-skates, with the illustrated history of the beheading of the evil queen adorning her body, guillotine and cupcakes included!
Cassandra was an amazing model, to withstand a six hour paint job in chilly circumstances! Cassandra is also featured as Medusa and Classic Beauty instalations here at bombshellbodyart.com! More snapshot photos from FABAIC 2010 can be found at facebook.com/bsbart
